first trip...

Joel leaves today to go on his first trip since we moved here. He's going to London and France for 9 days. So let the 'single parent' week begin!

We ran errands this morning before he left. While we were at the chemist, we were scolded because Mary Lyn wasn't properly dressed. The lady (in her thick Aussie accent) scolded us because her feet weren't covered! She couldn't believe that we would do such a thing! She said that it was way too cold for bare feet. ML did have long sleeves and pants on. But I felt it wasn't cold enough for footed jammies. After all, I had flip flops and shorts on!

When we got back to the car, I saw that it was only 15 degrees C. So that's only 59 degrees F. It was then that I finally realized that I was now one of THOSE people. You know the ones....the ones that don't dress their kids 'appropriately', etc by other peoples standards...The ones that I've seen every year in the winter going into Target with the bub. And neither the parent nor bub have coats or hats on...

It was an interesting day. I was the only person out with shorts and flip flops on. I got some pretty weird looks. We finally got a printer, so Aubrey was busy creating My Little Pony pictures on the computer. She can do it all by herself now; so she's pretty excited.
